Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Tylosin (as tylosin tartrate/base) ................. 200 mg

  • Excipients .......................................................... q.s. to 1 ml


Pharmacological Class

Macrolide antibiotic


Indications

TYLONIX® Injection is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by tylosin-sensitive organisms in animals, including:

  • Respiratory tract infections
    (Mycoplasma spp., Pasteurella spp., Mannheimia spp.)

  • Gastrointestinal infections
    (Clostridium spp., Lawsonia intracellularis where indicated)

  • Mastitis caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria

  • Metritis and uterine infections

  • Foot rot and soft tissue infections

  • Mycoplasmal infections in multiple species

Tylosin provides bacteriostatic activity with good tissue penetration, especially in respiratory tissues.


Dosage and Administration

Routes: Intramuscular (IM) or Subcutaneous (SC)

Recommended dosage:

  • Cattle, Camels, Horses:
    5–10 mg tylosin/kg body weight
    (Equivalent to 1–2 ml per 40 kg BW)
    Once daily for 3–5 days

  • Sheep & Goats:
    5–10 mg/kg body weight
    Once daily for 3–5 days

  • Dogs:
    10–20 mg/kg body weight
    Once daily for 3–5 days

Dosage and duration may be adjusted according to severity and veterinary judgment.


Target Species

Cattle, camels, horses, sheep, goats, and dogs


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to tylosin or other macrolide antibiotics

  • Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to macrolides

  • Use with caution in animals with severe hepatic dysfunction


Precautions

  • For veterinary use only

  • Use under veterinary supervision

  • Do not administer intravenously

  • Use sterile injection technique

  • Avoid overdosing

  • Do not mix with other injectable products in the same syringe

  • Keep out of reach of children


Withdrawal Period

(Subject to national regulatory approval)

  • Meat: Typically 8–21 days

  • Milk: Typically 3–5 days
    (Confirm exact withdrawal periods according to local regulations)


Storage

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze

  • Keep container tightly closed
