Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Tulathromycin (as tulathromycin base) ........ 100 mg

  • Excipients ......................................................... q.s. to 1 ml


Pharmacological Class

Macrolide antibiotic (Tricyclic azalide)


Indications

TULANIX® Injection is indicated for the treatment and control of respiratory and systemic bacterial infections caused by tulathromycin-sensitive organisms, including:

Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD)

Caused by:

  • Mannheimia haemolytica

  • Pasteurella multocida

  • Histophilus somni

  • Mycoplasma bovis

Respiratory infections in sheep and goats

Caused by Pasteurella and Mycoplasma species

Other indications

  • Foot rot (where susceptible organisms are involved)

  • Secondary bacterial infections associated with viral respiratory disease

Tulathromycin provides rapid lung penetration and prolonged therapeutic concentrations, allowing single-dose therapy.


Dosage and Administration

Route: Subcutaneous (SC) injection only

Recommended dosage:

  • 2.5 mg tulathromycin per kg body weight, equivalent to:
    1 ml per 40 kg body weight

Administration:

  • Administer as a single SC injection

  • Inject in the neck region

  • Do not inject more than 10 ml per injection site


Target Species

Cattle, sheep, goats, and camels
(Use in other species only under veterinary supervision)


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics

  • Do not use in animals known to be hypersensitive to tulathromycin

  • Do not administer intravenously or intramuscularly


Precautions

  • For veterinary use only

  • Use only under veterinary supervision

  • Fatal to humans if accidentally injected – extreme caution required

  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes

  • Do not mix with other injectable products in the same syringe

  • Use aseptic injection technique

  • Keep out of reach of children


Withdrawal Period

(Subject to national regulatory approval)

  • Meat: Typically 22–49 days (species dependent)

  • Milk: Not permitted for use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption
    (Confirm exact withdrawal periods according to local regulations)


Storage

  • Store below 30°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze

  • Keep container tightly closed
