COMPOSITION:
Each 1 ml contains:
Dipyrone (Metamizole sodium) 500 mg
INDICATIONS:
For the treatment of muscular pain, rheumatism, fever, and colic. It is primarily used for perioperative pain, although the clinical trial data to support this use is limited at best.
It is also used for acute injury, colic, cancer pain, other acute/chronic forms of pain, and high fever unresponsive to other agents.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Intramuscular Injection
For one dosage:
Horse, cattle: 6 ml ~ 20 ml
Sheep: 2 ml ~ 4 ml
Dog: 0.6 ml ~ 1.2 ml
PRECAUTION:
Not suitable for injection in acupuncture points, especially for joint sites.
For prevention of amyotrophy and obstruction of joint function.
Do not combine with chlorpromazine to prevent acute drop in body temperature.
Do not combine with barbiturates and phenylbutazone, because of interaction affecting microsomal enzyme activity.
SIDE EFFECT:
Long-term use may cause granulocyte reduction; check white blood cell count frequently.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Sheep and cattle:
For meat: 28 days
For milk: 7 days
