Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Ketoprofen ................................................ 100 mg

  • Excipients ...................................................... q.s. to 1 ml


Pharmacological Class

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)
(Propionic acid derivative)


Indications

KETONIX® Injection is indicated for the treatment of inflammation, pain, and fever associated with acute and chronic conditions in animals, including:

  • Musculoskeletal disorders (lameness, arthritis, myositis)

  • Acute and chronic inflammatory conditions

  • Post-operative pain and inflammation

  • Trauma and soft tissue injuries

  • Fever associated with infectious diseases

  • Supportive treatment in endotoxemia and mastitis (where indicated)

Ketoprofen provides anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects.


Dosage and Administration

Routes: Intramuscular (IM) or Intravenous (IV – slow injection)

Recommended dosage:

  • Cattle, Camels, Horses:
    1–3 mg/kg body weight
    (Equivalent to 1–3 ml per 100 kg BW)
    Once daily for up to 3 consecutive days

  • Sheep and Goats:
    1–3 mg/kg body weight
    Once daily for 1–3 days

  • Dogs:
    1–2 mg/kg body weight
    Once daily for up to 3 days

Dosage and duration may be adjusted according to severity and veterinary judgment.


Target Species

Cattle, camels, horses, sheep, goats, and dogs


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to ketoprofen or other NSAIDs

  • Gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding

  • Severe renal, hepatic, or cardiac impairment

  • Do not use in dehydrated, hypovolemic, or hypotensive animals

  • Do not use concurrently with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids


Precautions

  • For veterinary use only

  • Use under veterinary supervision

  • Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration

  • Ensure adequate hydration during treatment

  • Use sterile injection technique

  • Avoid intravascular shock by slow IV administration

  • Keep out of reach of children


Withdrawal Period

(May vary according to national regulations)

  • Meat: Typically 4–7 days

  • Milk: Typically 0–24 hours
    (Confirm according to local regulatory approval)


Storage

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze

  • Keep container tightly closed
