Composition

Each ml contains:

  • Florfenicol ................................................ 300 mg

  • Excipients ...................................................... q.s. to 1 ml


Pharmacological Class

Broad-spectrum antibiotic – Amphenicol group


Indications

FLORONIX® Injection is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by florfenicol-sensitive organisms in animals, including:

Respiratory Tract Infections

  • Mannheimia haemolytica

  • Pasteurella multocida

  • Histophilus somni

  • Mycoplasma spp.

Other Indications

  • Septicemia caused by susceptible bacteria

  • Enteric infections caused by E. coli and Salmonella spp.

  • Secondary bacterial infections associated with viral diseases

Florfenicol provides potent bacteriostatic and bactericidal activity with excellent lung and tissue penetration.


Dosage and Administration

Route: Intramuscular (IM) or Subcutaneous (SC)

Recommended dosage:

  • Cattle, Camels, Horses:
    20 mg florfenicol/kg body weight, equivalent to:
    1 ml per 15 kg BW

    • Single dose OR

    • Two doses 48 hours apart (according to severity)

  • Sheep & Goats:
    20 mg/kg body weight
    Once daily for 2–3 days

Dosage and treatment duration may be adjusted according to veterinary judgment and clinical response.

Cattle, camels, horses, sheep, and goats


Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to florfenicol or amphenicol antibiotics

  • Do not use in breeding animals producing milk for human consumption unless approved

  • Not recommended for use in poultry


Precautions

  • For veterinary use only

  • Use under veterinary supervision

  • Do not administer intravenously

  • Use sterile injection technique

  • Avoid repeated injections at the same site

  • Keep out of reach of children


Withdrawal Period

(Subject to national regulatory approval)

  • Meat: Typically 28–44 days

  • Milk: Not permitted for use in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption
    (Confirm exact withdrawal periods according to local regulations)


Storage

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze

  • Keep container tightly closed
