Composition
Each ml contains:
Iron (as Iron Dextran) ........................................ 100 mg
Excipients ............................................................. q.s. to 1 ml
(Equivalent to ENDOFER® 10)
Pharmacological Class
Antianemic agent – Iron supplement (Parenteral iron)
Indications
FERROVETA® Injection is indicated for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia in animals, particularly in cases of:
Iron deficiency anemia in young animals
Anemia due to poor nutrition or malabsorption
Post-hemorrhagic anemia
Weakness, pale mucous membranes, and poor growth
Supportive therapy during convalescence
Prophylactic use in piglets to prevent iron deficiency anemia
Iron dextran provides a slow-release source of iron, essential for hemoglobin synthesis and normal erythropoiesis.
Dosage and Administration
Route: Intramuscular (IM) injection only
Recommended dosage:
Piglets
1–2 ml per piglet (100–200 mg iron)
Single injection at 2–5 days of age
Calves
5–10 ml per animal
Single dose or divided doses as required
Lambs & Kids
2–5 ml per animal
Single dose
Adult Animals
5–15 ml per animal, depending on severity of anemia
Dosage may be adjusted according to the degree of anemia and veterinary judgment.
Target Species
Piglets, calves, lambs, kids, cattle, sheep, goats
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to iron dextran or any component
Animals with anemia not caused by iron deficiency
Acute infections or septicemia without veterinary supervision
Do not administer intravenously
Precautions
For veterinary use only
Use under veterinary supervision
Administer deep intramuscularly only
Observe animals after injection for hypersensitivity reactions
Do not exceed recommended dose
Avoid accidental self-injection
Keep out of reach of children
Withdrawal Period
