Composition

Each ml contains:

Amoxicillin trihydrate ........................................ 150 mg
Clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate) ........ 35 mg
Excipients ............................................................ q.s. to 1 ml

Pharmacological Class

Broad-spectrum β-lactam antibiotic combined with β-lactamase inhibitor

Indications

CLAVINIX® Injection is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by amoxicillin-sensitive and β-lactamase–producing organisms in animals, including:

Respiratory tract infections
Gastrointestinal infections
Urogenital infections
Skin and soft tissue infections
Wound infections and abscesses
Septicemia
Post-operative infections

Effective against organisms such as:
Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pasteurella spp., Proteus spp., Salmonella spp., and other susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Dosage and Administration

Route: Intramuscular (IM) or Slow Intravenous (IV)

Recommended dose:

1 ml per 10 kg body weight, equivalent to:
- Amoxicillin: 15 mg/kg BW
- Clavulanic acid: 3.5 mg/kg BW

Frequency:

Once daily for 3–5 consecutive days
In severe or chronic infections, treatment may be extended as advised by a veterinarian

Target Species

Cattle, sheep, goats, camels, horses, dogs, and cats

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, or β-lactam antibiotics
Do not use in animals with known severe renal dysfunction
Not recommended for use in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, or gerbils

Precautions

Shake well before use
Use with caution in animals with impaired kidney or liver function
Observe aseptic injection technique
Do not mix with other injectable products in the same syringe

Withdrawal Period (if food-producing animals)

Meat: 14 days
Milk: 3 days
(May vary according to national regulations)

Store below 25°C
Protect from light
Do not freeze
Use within recommended period after first opening
