Each ml contains:

  • Ceftiofur Crystalline Free Acid
    (equivalent to 50 mg ceftiofur)

Third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic (β-lactam)


Indications

CEFTIONIX® LA Injection is indicated for the treatment and control of bacterial infections caused by ceftiofur-sensitive organisms in cattle, including:

  • Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD) caused by
    Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus somni

  • Acute interdigital necrobacillosis (Foot rot)

  • Acute postpartum metritis

  • Acute mastitis caused by Escherichia coli

Ceftiofur crystalline free acid provides prolonged therapeutic plasma concentrations, allowing single-dose treatment.


Dosage and Administration

Route: Subcutaneous (SC) injection only

Recommended dosage:

  • 6.6 mg ceftiofur per kg body weight, equivalent to:
    1 ml per 7.5 kg body weight

Administration notes:

  • Administer as a single SC injection

  • Inject at the base of the ear only

  • Do not inject more than 15 ml per injection site

  • Do not administer intravenously or intramuscularly

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to ceftiofur, cephalosporins, or other β-lactam antibiotics

  • Do not use in animals with known allergic reactions to β-lactams

  • Not for use in poultry or small animals


Precautions

  • For veterinary use only

  • Use under veterinary supervision

  • Follow strict aseptic injection technique

  • Injection site reactions may occur

  • Avoid accidental self-injection

  • Do not mix with other injectable products in the same syringe

  • Keep out of reach of children


Withdrawal Period

(Subject to national regulatory approval)

  • Meat: Typically 13 days

  • Milk: 0 hours (nil withdrawal)

Storage

  • Store below 25°C

  • Protect from light

  • Do not freeze

  • Shake well before use

  • Keep container tightly closed


Presentation

  • Multidose vials (e.g. 50 ml, 100 ml)
